Swiss Government Scholarships for Foreign Students 2010
(for foreign students wishing to complete their education at a Swiss university)

Swiss Government Scholarships are awarded by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS). They are by definition intended exclusively for foreign students who wish to complete their education at a Swiss university or federal institute of technology, such as the UNIGE.

They are awarded in accordance with a list of countries eligible for Swiss Federal Scholarships, drawn up at the beginning of every year.

The scholarships are reserved exclusively for candidates already in possession of a university degree from their home country. Applications are to be submitted to Swiss diplomatic representation in the candidate’s country of origin.

Candidates are strongly advised to begin taking the necessary steps roughly a year in advance.

Scholarships are granted for an academic year of nine months. An extension may be granted if the scholarship is needed to finance an educational programme lasting more than two semesters, and only if the recipient of the scholarship has successfully passed his or her first year of study.

Introduction

Funded by a grant from the government of Japan, the Japan Indonesia Presidential Scholarship Program (JIPS) supports PhD studies in an academic field of study covered by Indonesian Centers of Excellence (CoE) participating in the program. Each of these newly established Centers of Excellence is located at a leading higher education institution in the country with a demonstrated track record in the pursuit of excellence. The goal of the program is to promote excellence in research in these Centers to support the Ministry of National Education in its mission to improve the quality of higher education and research in the country.

The purpose of the scholarship is to support scholarship recipients in upgrading their qualifications and to provide them with an international study experience at renowned academic institutions in World Bank member countries, except Indonesia. During their studies, scholars are encouraged to build and foster academic collaborations and partnerships. The selected candidates commit to work, upon completion of their studies, in of the sponsoring CoE where they are expected to take an active role in the academic life.

Scholar’s Commitment:

Be committed to work as professor/researcher in the Centers of Excellence endorsing the scholarship upon completion of the PhD Program.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following general criteria to be eligible for a scholarship:

1. Be a national and resident of Indonesia;
2. Be under 45 years. Candidates born before January 1, 1965 will not be considered;
3. Must have completed and been awarded a Master’s degree, or equivalent, at the time of application; however outstanding candidates with a bachelor degree can be considered for a Master-PhD track;
4. Have maintained a GPA of at least 3 on a scale of 4 over both undergraduate and graduate studies.

Definition

VLIR-UOS launched its ICP Ph D programme in 2003 to enable promising graduates of the International Courses Programme (ICP) to make a Ph D at a Flemish university.

The ICP Ph D programme aims to institutionally strengthen universities or research institutions in the South through capacity building. Local academic personnel is upgraded by offering Ph D scholarships in a so-called ‘sandwich program’. The research and doctoral programme are geographically spread over two locations, namely the academic home institution and a Flemish university. In this way both local and Flemish expertise are combined to provoke a win-win effect for all parties involved.

Target group

The call is only open for ICP graduates. An ICP is an International Course Programme (Master, or Master after Master), funded by VLIR-UOS and organized in Belgium at one or more of the Flemish Universities. The applicant should either graduate in the reference year (2010) or not have graduated from an ICP more than five years before the start of the ICP Ph D scholarship period. Call

This call for ICP Ph D 2010, launched on 6 November 2009, is open until February 2010. Selection will take place in May 2010. Selected candidates start on 1 October 2010.

Beasiswa luar negeri ke Rusia ini disediakan untuk semua ilmu alam, ilmu teknik, ilmu sosial, serta ilmu humaniora. Beasiswa tidak diberikan untuk mereka yang ingin menimba ilmu hubungan internasional, seni, dan olahraga. Untuk bidang studi hukum dan ilmu politik pun masing-masing hanya tersedia satu beasiswa, sedangkan kedokteran hanya tersedia dua beasiswa.

Beasiswa juga tersedia untuk ilmu-ilmu khusus seperti pendidikan, kesehatan masyarakat, ekonomi dan manajemen, spesialisasi interdisipliner ilmu alam, geologi dan sumber daya mineral, eksplorasi mineral, ilmu energi dan teknik mesin pembangkit, metalurgi, konstruksi mesin dan pemrosesan material, penerbangan, roket dan teknologi angkasa, teknologi maritim, peralatan transportasi darat, teknologi pertambangan dan perlengkapan, teknik elektro, pengendalian alat-alat gedung; radioteknik dan komunikasi, automasi dan kontrol, komputer dan informatika, eksploitasi transportasi, teknologi kimia, reproduksi dan proses sumber daya kehutanan, teknologi makanan, teknologi komoditas konsumen, arsitektur dan ilmu konstruksi, geodesi dan kartografi; agrikultur dan perikanan, ekologi dan pemanfaatan alam, serta kesehatan dan keselamatan.

Syarat utamanya, usia pelamar tidak lebih dari 25 tahun dan saat mendaftarkan beasiswa ini tidak lebih dari 3 tahun setelah tamat SMU. Pelamar juga harus memiliki ijazah SMU setara ijazah SMU di Rusia dengan nilai rata-rata 8,0 atau 80 % untuk mata pelajaran sesuai program studi/jurusan pilihan dan tidak ada angka merah untuk mata pelajaran lain.

Sebelum menimba ilmu, pelamar akan terlebih dulu mengikuti fakultas persiapan selama 1 tahun untuk mempelajari Bahasa Rusia dan mata pelajaran sesuai program studi/jurusan pilihannya.

Khusus beasiswa jenjang S-1 ini, skema beasiswa dari pemerintah Federasi Rusia ini senilai 1100 rubel atau 30,5 USD per bulan, tiket pesawat pergi-pulang Rusia-Indonesia sekitar 900 USD, serta biaya penjemputan atau transportasi dari airport ke tempat tujuan dan registrasi paspor minimal 250 USD (kecuali untuk kota-kota di luar Moskow).

Selain itu, pemerintah Rusia juga akan memberikan asrama mahasiswa sebagai hunian di sana. Hanya, ongkos sewanya dibebankan kepada penerima beasiswa yang nilainya sekitar 30 USD per 6 bulan.

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is still in his/her home country before departure to Japan and is willing to pursue a master’s or Ph.D. degree at the Graduate School of System Design and Management (SDM). Applicants for this scholarship should fill the designated application form and submit it to the Admissions Office.

For this academic year, this scholarship will be awarded to one person. A recipient of this award will receive financial aid from Yoshida Scholarship Foundation (http://www.ysf.or.jp/en/indexe.html). Scholarship for Study Abroad in the Netherlands – StuNed Scholarship Program

The Dutch government offers scholarships for master’s programs and short course to the mid-career professionals Indonesia. Participants preferred a woman and comes from outside Java with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and s1 have experience working for two years after graduation from S1.

What is StuNed scholarship

StuNed, abbreviation of Studeren in Nederland or study in the Netherlands, is a scholarship program provided by the Dutch government to the mid-career professionals from Indonesia as part of bilateral cooperation between Dutch and Indonesian governments.

StuNed Scholarship Program

StuNed scholarship program aims to help the development of Indonesia through the improvement of human resources at institutions in Indonesia. Through the StuNed scholarship program, individual enthusiasts can follow the master’s program and the short course in the Netherlands. While the institution may submit a proposal for the group application and / or Refresher course.

Priority will be given to prospective participants from local organizations who partner with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands such as department / non-departmental government agencies, local governments, NGOs and private sector also has a close relationship with development issues relevant to the Multi -Annual Strategic Plan (MASP) 2008-2011. The Full-Time programme is designed to increase your management capability and develop your expertise in chosen areas. You begin by studying the business fundamentals that form the basis of management decision making in business. The next stage of the programme will increase your knowledge of management theory and how it applies to business organizations.

In the third stage you have to opportunity to develop your expertise in three chosen areas. While progressing through the first three stages of the programme, you will also undertake a module designed to develop your management skills. Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarships to Foreign Students

ANNOUNCEMENT
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS TO FOREIGN STUDENTS TENABLE IN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOR THE 2010/2011 ACADEMIC SESSION

With His Majesty`s consent, the Government of Brunei Darussalam is offering annual scholarships under a special scholarship award scheme, commencing in 2010/2011 academic session. The scholarships are offered for Bachelors, Masters, and Phd Degree Program.

Tenable in Brunei Darussalam, the aim of the Scholarship awards is to provide students, with the opportunity to study at Universiti Brunei Darussalam [UBD], Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali [UNISSA] and Institut Teknologi Brunei [ITB]. The academic year for UBD, UNISSA and ITB commences in July / August 2010.

1. ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN, OIC, Commonwealth Member Countries and others and must be between the ages of 18 – 25 at the commencement of the academic session for which they are applying for admission. However, under exceptional case, the age limit requirement may be waived for candidates who are applying for Masters and PhD Programmes.

The awards are NOT eligible to Brunei Permanent Residents and foreigners residing in Brunei Darussalam for more than three months. The Scholarship award is normally tenable according to the duration of the specific programme which is four years for an Honours First Degree or one to two years for a Master`s Degree or three years for a Doctoral programme at UBD, UNISSA and ITB, two and a half years for HND at ITB on full-time basis.

2. TENURE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship award is subject to the scholar maintaining satisfactory conduct and satisfactory progress in the scholar`s studies (this requires the scholar to maintain an active registration status by passing the prescribed semester examinations and obtaining the minimum course credit units).

3. TERMS OF AWARD
The scholarship covers

* Tuition fees.
* Air-tickets by economy class for which the scholar will only be provided on the following occasions:
o from the scholar`s home country to Brunei Darussalam at the commencement of the programme;
o from Brunei Darussalam to the scholar`s home country after the completion of the programme.
* Free medical and dental treatment at any Government hospital subject to conditions stipulated by the Ministry of Health. However there will be administrative charges for every consultation (currently at B$3.00), admission to class A1, A2 and A3 wards and charges for certain dental treatment as stated in the schedule 1 Dental Treatment issued by the Ministry of Health.

Other allowances payable will include:
- Monthly personal allowance of B$500.00.
- Annual Book Allowance of B$600.00.
