Applications are invited for “Ramalingaswami Fellowship”, a re-entry scheme of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.

Objective
1. The scheme is aimed at bringing back scientists of Indian origin working out side the country in various fields of Biotechnology, including agriculture, health sciences, bio-engineering, energy, environment, bioinformatics and all other related areas, and who are desirous of pursing R&D in an Indian institution.

Eligibility
2. The applicant should possess a higher degree or equivalent, such as PhD, MD etc with an outstanding track record reflected in publications and other recognitions.
3. Only candidates of Indian origin working oversease are eligible to apply. Those who have already returned to India and are working in India are not eligible.

The Centre for Studies in Religion and Society invites applications from Indian scholars for a visiting research fellowship appointment at the University of Victoria.

Topics: Applications are welcomed for projects that meet the Centre’s mandate of promoting the interdisciplinary study of religion in relation to any and all aspects of society and culture, both contemporary and historical. Topics may include but are not limited to examinations of religious themes within the areas of ethics, health, environment, technology, public policy, human conflict, art, literature, the media, law, philosophy or the natural sciences. The India research fellowship is particularly targeted at scholars working on religion in modern India, though other topics will also be considered. Applications from all disciplinary backgrounds are welcome.

Eligibility: Indian citizens who are completing their doctoral work, are engaged in post-doctoral research, or who have regular academic appointments in India.

The ‘Better Opportunities for Young Scientists in Chosen Areas of Science and Technology (BOYSCAST)’ programme of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) provides opportunities to the young Indian scientists/technologists to visit institutions abroad, interact with scientists/technologists there, get trained in latest research techniques and conduct R&D in specially chosen frontline areas of science and technology. Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the award of fellowships under the BOYSCAST programme for conducting advanced research and undergoing training in advanced research techniques in overseas research laboratories/institutes, in chosen frontline areas of science and technology for the period of three to twelve months. The chosen areas fall under the following broad areas:

(1) Atmospheric and earth Sciences;
(2) Chemical sciences;
(3) Engineering sciences;
(4) Life sciences;
(5) Mathematical sciences, and
(6) Physical Sciences.
