Frontiers in Genetics’ PhD program starts every year in October and usually lasts 4 years. During the first year, the students are requested to complete 3 rotations in different laboratories of the network. In addition, they must attend a course entitled Frontiers in Molecular Genetics. The students are then submitted to a qualifying exam before being enrolled into the PhD thesis project.

Scholarship Starting in October 2009
Frontiers in Genetics proposes an international program for doctoral training, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation. This program is based at the University of Geneva, and includes participating members from all of our NCCR’s institutions. The program starts in October 2009 and provides a strong background in molecular genetics and genomics to address cutting edge biological issues.
We wish to recruit outstanding candidates with a degree in biological sciences and a commitment to a career in research. The selected students will receive stipends for four years, providing they complete all program requirements.

Citi Foundation at the European Business School
The Citi Foundation Scholarship Fund at the European Business School is presented by EBS Alumni and aimed at the advancement and support of socially disadvantaged, gifted potential students. The Citi Foundation’s funding will be used to alleviate the financial burden stemming from tuition fees. The scholarships will cover 50% of Bachelors or Masters tuition fees for one year.
The scholarship program targets young people from disadvantaged low-income families who usually have only limited access to education and training or minorities who often experience discrimination. We therefore intend to improve their chances via this advancement program and see this as a contribution to integration, as well as a valuable support of EBS’ scholarly aims to promote intercultural competence in its educational concept.

You must be at least 18 years of age and submit an essay of no more 1000 words on the topics of project accounting and time-tracking.
- Scholarship 2009 Journyx Scholarships
The author of the best essay, as chosen by our panel of judges, will be awarded $500 USD towards his or her tuition and fees. To apply for the scholarship you’ll need to submit the following materials, along with your essay, obviously, between September 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009:
- An official academic transcript containing the entrant’s spring semester grades for the academic year in progress.
- A copy of entrant’s resume that includes e-mail address, campus address and phone number, student ID number, permanent address and phone number, major and expected graduation date.
To be eligible, all application materials must be received by 5:00pm CDT on June 1, 2009 for the academic year beginning September of that year.
