The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Stanford University (Stanford) invite applications from mid-career and senior Southeast Asianist scholars in the social sciences or humanities who would like to spend up to six months between 1 April 2008 and 30 September 2008 at NUS and Stanford writing and doing research on or related to contemporary Southeast Asia.
Candidates may be of any nationality and reside in any country.
Applicants should submit :
* a project statement (not to exceed three pages) that justifies and describes the writing – and research envisaged during the fellowship;
* a schedule of preferred locations and dates including time in residence at each of the two campuses;
* a sample of previous English-language publication; a curriculum vitae;
* and full contact information for three references who are able, if asked, to evaluate the proposal and the candidate.
The exact length of the fellowship and the allocation of time spent at each campus will take into account the preferences of the successful applicant.
The fellowship carries a stipend of US$ 7,500 per month plus reimbursement for air travel to and from NUS and Stanford. Complete applications are due by 15 November 2007. Results will be announced by 15 January 2008.

Chevening UK Postgraduate Scholarship during 2008/2009

Chevening is the UK government’s flagship scholarship scheme, aimed at future leaders, high achievers, opinion formers and decision-makers. The scholarships funded by the British Government for Postgraduate study in the UK during the 2008/09 academic year from 30 September to 16 November 2007.
This year up to 35 full scholarships are offered for one year Master degrees.
General Information & RequirementsÂ
About British Chevening Awards
* Courses at various universities and professional institutions in the UK including courses in media, finance, economics, politics, law, management, engineering, gender, environment, democracy etc.
* A very competitive scheme. Only the best applicants are invited for further test and interview.
* Employees, employee’s relatives (or former employees who have left employment less than two years before) of the FCO (Foreign Commonwealth Office), including FCO posts, the British Council and the sponsor will not be eligible to apply for these awards.
Who can apply?
* Indonesian Citizen.
* Age between 25 – 40 years old.
* Excellent first degree with minimum GPA 3.0.
* Adequate level of spoken and written English language.
* Minimum of 2 years full time working experience after graduation from S1.
* Excellent career prospects.
* Commitment to career development, and ability to demonstrate motivation.
* Field of study should be relevant to educational background or current profession.
* We regret that we are unable to receive applications for MBAs.
* Previous recipients of a Chevening scholarship for Masters degrees are not eligible to reapply.
* Must be able to demonstrate future leadership potential and the capacity to play an important role in Indonesia’s development.
* Ability and potential to contribute to future bilateral relations between Indonesia and Britain.
* We strongly encourage candidates from Eastern Indonesia to apply. Subject areas are: Media, International Relations, Environmental Policy, Local Governmental Administration, Democracy and Pluralism.
When to apply?
The application period for 2007 is from 1 September – 16 November 2007
The Selection process
* Initial selection is based on the quality of the written application. You do not need to attach any documents with the application form.
* Successful applicants will be notified and invited for an English test/interview in January 2008.
* The English test and interviews will be held in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Makassar.
* The results of the interviews will be announced by letter.
* Candidates achieving an IELTS score of at least 6.5, and who are accepted by a UK university for an appropriate subject (approved by the Embassy) will be awarded a full scholarship.
* English language training is included as part of the scholarship )only if required). Candidates from outside Jakarta are supported during the period of the course.
* Whilst undergoing English language training in Jakarta, candidates are briefed by British Embassy and British Council staff and are given guidance on course selection and application procedures.
* The academic year in the UK commences in September/October. After completing the English courses (around May) candidates are normally advised to return to their employment. The British Council then keeps in touch with candidates about their departure arrangements. Further briefing on the departure arrangements is provided one month prior to departure.
* The final number of scholarships granted is determined by the British Embassy.

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Saudi Arabia – The KAUST Discovery Scholarship is the general scholarship program of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). This program is designed to ensure that any highly talented student who is qualified and eligible to enroll in KAUST will receive full financial support while at the University. Those who receive a Discovery Scholarship will receive full tuition support, a living stipend, and summer and career enrichment programs.
KAUST will offer Discovery Scholarships to all KAUST students – an exceptional level of support intended to attract gifted and talented students from Saudi Arabia and from other countries around the world.
KAUST will offer a pre-enrollment version of this general scholarship program to students attending first-university or bachelor’s degree programs. KAUST will provide financial support to pre-enrollment Discovery Scholarship recipients at their home institutions prior to the University’s opening. Upon graduation, these students will enter KAUST as master’s degree students in September 2009 and 2010 to complete their graduate studies on a fully funded scholarship.
Recipients of the KAUST Discovery Scholarship represent future leaders in science, engineering and technology.
Students may apply for a KAUST Discovery Scholarship directly, or they may be nominated by a professor at their institution.

City University London – School of Informatics. The School of Informatics offers a number of scholarships of £2,000 for both home and overseas well-qualified postgraduate students on the following one year full-time master’s courses:
Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems & Technology, Business Systems Analysis & Design, Information Science, Data Mining, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, e-Business Systems, Information Systems, Electronic Publishing, Pharmaceutical Information Management, Human-centred Systems, Information Management, Library and Information Studies, Geographic Information Management, Information Management in the Cultural Sector, Health Informatics, and Healthcare Technologies.
Scholarships will be offered to both home and overseas well-qualified applicants wishing to take up a place on any of the above courses in September 2008. Terms and conditions
1. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the Course Director. Course Directors may require applicants to submit an assignment or an essay, for example, as part of the selection process.
2. Scholarships are only available to students paying the full fee on one of the participating courses.
3. The scholarship is intended to assist the student meet the cost of the fee payable in respect of the course and will be deducted from the fees charged to the student or the student’s sponsor.
4. The scholarship will not be recorded on the degree certificate from the University. However, references for students who have successfully completed the course may refer to the scholarship.
5. Applicants may only apply for a scholarship once, but if a deadline is missed it will automatically be considered for the next round.
Note that anyone who applied for the scholarships under previous rules will automatically be considered under the new rules.

Brisbane Graduate School of Business (BGSB) offers a small number of scholarships for superior applicants from all countries commencing in the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Business Administration (Major) and Graduate Certificate in Business Administration programs.
The scholarships are based on GMAT score and/or the total number of points you are awarded from the following tables. At the discretion of the MBA Director, one additional point may be awarded for each of the following: possession of a Masters degree; possession of a Doctoral degree; substantial employment experience at a high level of managerial responsibility; and/or employment experience with a global firm or organisation.

SembCorp Scholarship – The SembCorp Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students of Indonesian nationality for a 4-year undergraduate studies at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The Nanyang Scholarships are awarded to outstanding freshmen pursuing undergraduate programmes in Nanyang Technological University.
